Health Care Delivery Finances: Moving Toward Team Accountability

It is critical for managers and staff to gain clarity on the finances of health care and find new ways to impact them in daily practice. Financial accountability can no longer be the sole responsibility of executives, directors, and managers. Many health care settings have been strategically involving the interdisciplinary team in very effective ways. They have had greater financial success as they have shared the accountability for this important aspect of care with others. This workshop is designed to:
  • Explore the relationship between caring and finances in order to articulate how our assumptions drive our actions.
  • Identify strategies to prepare the team for shared financial accountability.
  • Discuss ways to integrate shared financial accountability into the daily practice of all team members, including the use of dialogue, partnership councils, and budget/fiscal materials.
This workshop is for managers and staff to collectively explore their thinking and identify strategies in the transition from the same old health care fiscal management to new ways of thinking and practice.
